Which books can I import?
Marcus reads EPUB, PDF and plaintext files. Import them from the Books tab, or open a file from another app and choose Marcus. Scanned PDFs are recognized automatically so the text stays readable.
Do I need an account?
No — Marcus works fully as a guest, and your books and progress stay on your device. Creating an account (email or Sign in with Apple) is optional and adds sync, so your library and progress can be restored on a new device.
How do the AI explanations work?
Tap any word or passage and Marcus explains it in context; recaps catch you up when you return to a book. The free plan includes a daily number of AI requests; Pro removes the limit.
How do I restore my purchase?
Subscriptions are handled by the App Store. If Pro doesn't show up on a new device, open Settings → Restore purchases in the app while signed in with the same Apple ID.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings → Account → Delete account in the app. This permanently removes your account and everything synced to our servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Notifications are too much (or not showing)
Reading reminders are optional and scheduled on your device — adjust or turn them off in the app's Settings, or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Marcus.
